Prayer
& Praise
At Here's Hope we
have learned that the New Testament more often speaks of corporate prayer
than it does private prayer. As a result, we are undertaking steps to
change how we understand praying together. For too long, the church
has seen the purpose of prayer as "telling God what we need." The
bible indicates otherwise. In fact, the book of Acts demonstrates that
corporate prayer is the opportunity for believers to jointly enter into a
conversation with God and encounter His presence.
Our prayer meetings
are becoming transformed by this understanding as we first seek to encounter
God, respond to Him, get onto His agenda, and lastly, lift up our needs.
Our hope is that "One Accord" prayer becomes a powerful norm not only in our
church but in our region as our members spread out and start prayer meetings
in their places of work, business and school.
Join us Wednesday
evenings at 7:00 pm as we encounter our God and Savior!

Our Prayer
Acts
4:29-31
Lord...grant that Your
bond-servants may speak Your word with all
confidence, while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs
and wonders take place through the name of Your holy
servant Jesus." And when they had prayed, the
place here they had gathered together was shaken,
and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to
speak the word of God with boldness. |
